Ana and Angelo's love story began long before their wedding day. High school sweethearts, they grew up together through life's greatest joys and hardest challenges.
When Angelo was just 15, he lost his father to cancer. Stepping into a new role within his family, he became a source of strength for his mother and younger sister. Through it all, Ana stood beside him, encouraging him as he pursued computer programming while she followed her dream of becoming a lawyer.
Their fall wedding at Casa Bianca in Oak Ridge, New Jersey welcomed more than 200 family and friends. A memorial table honored Angelo's late father and other loved ones, reminding everyone that family—both present and remembered—was part of the celebration.
Although they were hesitant about having a first look, they trusted the process. It became one of the most emotional first looks I've ever photographed. As Ana gently tapped Angelo on the shoulder, he turned around, overcome with emotion, while moments later her father saw her for the first time and joyfully exclaimed,"Beautiful! Beautiful!"—a reaction that filled the room with laughter and happy tears.
The celebration reflected their personalities perfectly. After an emotional ceremony, Angelo surprised everyone by making his grand entrance in an inflatable shark costume while "Baby Shark" played through the reception, creating a moment their guests still talk about.
Today, these photographs carry even deeper meaning. Not long after the wedding, Ana's beloved grandmother passed away while returning to the Dominican Republic. The images they shared together have become treasured family heirlooms—a reminder that wedding photographs preserve more than a celebration. They preserve the people we love and the moments we can never recreate.
