It’s been awhile since our last official vacation! For the past year, Covid-19 has had us all cooped up. Although my husband continued to work during the pandemic, we just needed to have a quick getaway. This past March, we decided to visit Arizona. It was our first time visiting Arizona. We booked our flights, made hotel reservations, and rented a car. To our surprise, we noticed how many other people were traveling during Holy Week! The flight was booked to capacity including the middle aisle seat. My husband and I were given different seats in different sections of the airplane. That did not matter to us as long as we arrived safely, which we did!
Arizona proved to be a great vacation choice. The weather was absolutely beautiful and the scenery did not disappoint. We made use of our rental car and visited the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix. On our second day, we explored Downtown Tempe and drove two hours to explore the town of Prescott. We enjoyed dinner at an old saloon in Whiskey Alley Way called “The Palace.” We met a gentlemen outside the court house who has been living in Prescott since 1973. He relocated from Buffalo, NY. He teaches Veterans his craft of making statues on metal. He also counsels homeless people. On our last day, we drove again for another two hours and visited the Chapel of the Holy Christ in Sedona. The drive was incredible to Prescott and Sedona reaching altitudes of 5,000 feet and seeing the spectacular mountains. We also visited a local park in Chandler before our flight back to New York. We will definitely go back and explore Arizona. Enjoy our photos from our trip!
